Waveguide Pipe Penetrations

Raymond RF Measurements Corp. specializes in the design, manufacture and testing of NPT waveguide pipe penetrations designed to pass a variety of gases / fluids into or out of an RF Shielded QuietBox or Anechoic Chamber without compromising the overall RF Shielding Effectiveness of the QuietBox or Anechoic Chamber.

Standard SizesWaveguide Penetration
Wide Range of Applications Raymond RF waveguide pipe penetrations are perfect for passing any dielectric materials/fluids through an RF Shielded QuietBox or Anechoic Chamber.

Water, for Fire Suppression Systems
Gas, for Fire Suppression Systems
Air, for Hard Pipe Compressed Air Systems
Polyurethane (or any dielectric) tubing, for Compressed Air
Fibre Optics, for Data Transmission

It should be noted that waveguide pipe penetrations larger than ½” nominal size will no longer provide 100 dB RF Shielding Effectiveness at 10 GHz.
    Waveguide Penetration
Complies with Trade Standards All Raymond RF waveguide pipe penetrations are fully NPT threaded ensuring that our pipe penetrations are compatible with off-the-shelf plumbing products. This is especially advantageous for applications requiring connection of incoming rigid pipe to the waveguide pipe penetration as is typically the case for fire suppression systems where water or gas is fed into the enclosure from an outside source. A dielectric break must be installed in line with any incoming conductive plumbing to create a non-conducting break between the conductive piping and the shield to maintain the single point grounding imperative to the performance of an RF Shielded QuietBox or Anechoic Chamber. Raymond RF can supply any pipe penetration complete with a dielectric union coupler.

All Raymond RF waveguide pipe penetrations can be installed in a bulkhead connector. Accompanying flange nuts tightened on either side of the shield ensure an RF-tight fit.
